The Franklin Rock’n’Roll Club is based in Leith, Scotland and we promote live gigs featuring only the very best local and international rock’n’roll bands. Primitive surf, psychotic fuzzed up high-octane garage punk, raved up rhythm’n’ blues or Bo Diddley-fied punk rock…we have it all.
Previous Franklin Rock’n’Roll Club nights have been honoured with visits from bands such as the current kings of wyld rave up R’n’B ‘Les Grys-Grys’, furious fuzz pedalled rock’n’roll from ‘The Courettes’, and hula hooping horn honking from ‘Oh!Gunquit’ and several visits from punk-rock illuminatae such as ‘The Masonics’ and ‘The Wildebeests’. ‘The Bonnevilles’ tear the place apart when they are in town. We also regularly feature live gigs from top local bands like ‘Fanny Pelmet & The Bastard Suits’, ‘Geek Maggot Bingo’, ‘Logan’s Close’, and ‘The Phlegm’.
Every year we organise FranklinFest a three day festival of garage-punk, beat, surf and rock’n’roll bands. We promote local bands, dedicating one afternoon to local talent, and bands from across Europe. Take a look at some video footage from FranklinFest 2015 and FranklinFest 2016.
This is held at various venues across Edinburgh over a weekend in the summer. Some of the lineup for FranklinFest 2017 (how did we think of that name!) is online now!
Check out Les Grys-Grys who popped over from France and ‘raved up’ FranklinFest2016.

We can also be found drinking beer and hanging out at other similar activities in Edinburgh, like our twice monthly Friday Night at The Parlour (check dates) or at ‘Beatsville’ Edinburgh’s home of beat and rock’n’roll, lo-brow shenanigans and hi-jinx..
If you are in a band and are heading up this way seeking a venue get in touch!
